The Plan

The Plan

Our pilgrimage will begin at 9 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Arlington, Va. From there, pilgrims will walk to the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle. The route is about seven (7)  miles and is expected to take around three (3) hours. For a step-by-step guide, please view the walking directions. Those who cannot make the journey on foot are encouraged to arrive at St. Matthew's by 12:30 p.m. to join in prayer.

Marian Procession

The pilgrimage march will consist of a Marian procession, with prayers and hymns, banners, crucifixes, and statues of Our Lady. We will pray the 15 traditional mysteries of the Rosary in English, punctuated by hymns after each mystery.

Please see the Music Resources page for a digital copy of the hymn booklet. Paper copies will be available.

Liturgy

We will recite the hour of Sext from the traditional Divine Office according to the 1961 Breviarium Romanum before setting out from Arlington. Upon arrival in Washington following the procession, we will recite the Angelus and the hour of None. The texts for the Office and the Angelus are included in the hymn booklet.
